SALARY RANGE: $54,400 - $85,800 (SCS I)

DUTIES:
Incumbent will develop web-based intranet applications and integration
components in support of Jefferson Lab's management information
systems. Deliver scalable, secure, stable, robust, and user-friendly
solutions with real business value to Jefferson Lab management and
staff. Participate in all areas of the software development lifecycle,
from initial requirements gathering to coding/debugging and
deployment. Work as a member of the MIS (Management Information
Systems) team to integrate in-house applications with third-party
enterprise business software, specifically Deltek Costpoint and MRO
Software's Maximo Enterprise Suite. Employ code reuse, testing
principles, standards and frameworks to optimize productivity,
reliability and maintainability of software within a team of
programmers. Develop application components in parallel with other MIS
team members, continuously coordinating efforts to ensure a successful
and cohesive solution. Evaluate new products and tools and participate
in team code reviews. Perform other such duties, tasks, and
responsibilities as assigned.

Experience/Education Required
Bachelor's Degree with a concentration in Computer Science or related
field and experience developing Java/J2EE-based web-oriented
solutions.

Experience developing database-enabled intra/internet applications
using Java/J2EE. Understanding of RDBMS principles, UML, XML, SQL, and
basic modeling techniques. Proficient in Windows and Unix/Linux
operating system environments. Familiarity with enterprise-wide
processes and standards for application design, development, testing,
and configuration/installation. Experience with MVC frameworks such as
Struts/JSF, services-oriented architecture, automated testing
utilities such as Junit, and web and application server products (BEA
Weblogic, Red Hat JBoss, Apache and/or IIS). Familiarity with Maximo
and/or Costpoint is desirable, as is knowledge of web services
principles and tools such as SOAP, XML and RPC.
