Getting out of this world?

I wonder what means there are, or could be developed, here and now,
to deliberately or accidentally be transported into a different
dimension/reality/some other world in some other universe.
Initiated
here (not at the destination).

So, no aliens interfering (no ancient alien tech found either), and
no magic.


But wildly exaggerated Speculative Fiction tech is allowed. As long
as there's a theory that says it could be done. No matter how far
fetched.


Suggestions on who would most likely be the constructor/initiator
are also welcome. (Government, private rich person, what? The only
other idea I've got is some sect thinking to enter afterlife that
way, just as another example.)
