Hey guys, been having difficulties posting on here, and sorry I wasn't there last night to be my normal smart ass self!
I tried to comment on the Davidson article and yes I did not like it! Not necessarily because it wasn't written well, but he truly didn't state or stand on his beliefs, but instead rambled on about organisms, bacteria, etc. What really grabbed my attention was, what did we come from? This is a hot topic for many, I went to Catholic school for nine years and was raised Catholic, baptized, first communion, confirmation, the whole nine yards. However, I am open minded about how the human race evolved. I do believe we started from an organism, or a species and due to the environment, we grew and our bodies learned to modify and change; evolve.
However, I also believe in Adam and Eve, but who is to say you can't believe in both? Some may say this is a cop out! Others, have agreed with me and therefore the question is why can't it be both? We came from a God (if you believe in a higher power) and that organism that was Adam and Eve or what God chose to create evolved into what we are today?
Really, thats all I got out of Davidson, I found him to be a little sloppy, and I did struggle with writing.
As for Rogers, loved it! He made a lot of great points; not going to into much detail now since it was discussed, but the way he presented his information and what he believed truly reached out to me. However, after reading Mason, everything I enjoyed about Rogers made me rethink, was he doing what he was doing to help others or to make a name for himself? Or was it Mason trying to dig too deep into Rogers work at the hospital and in return make a name for himself?
Mason had a lot of great comments, such as the patients were never going to leave, so why provide this treatment and promise the world with this form of therapy (Rogers) when yet they will never be independent? Also, how much did Rogers know about the hospital and test he was doing? Did he know they were going to be living probably the majority of their lives there? Mason really make Rogers sound like a fraud and whats funny is I have enjoyed reading Rogers work in the past, but like anything else, Mason showed the other side of the story and made me think, what was Rogers full intentions?
I apologize if I misread or stated anything that was inaccurate, I read them all on Saturday and Sunday morning, and mind is a little mush right now. However, I did just wanna throw my two cents out there. Hope all is well and I look forward to being able to post this week on the readings!!
