Community Orchards & Tree Care Internship with Portland Fruit Tree Project

*Portland Fruit Tree Project is currently accepting applications for our
Community Orchards & Tree Care Internship! *
The 2015 Community Orchards & Tree Care Intern will aid in the
implementation of Portland Fruit Tree Project's Community Orchards & Fruit
Tree Stewardship programs.

Time commitment: 12-20 hours per week, for 26 weeks *(schedule is somewhat
flexible, 315 total hours minimum) *January 12th – July 12th, 2015.
Location: You would be working primarily out of PFTP headquarters in NE
Portland, but will be traveling throughout the City of Portland for site
visits and tree care events.

Winter fruit tree pruning workshop - Vancouver, WA

Whether your garden is a large rural acreage or a small city lot, fruit trees make a wonderful, edible landscape addition. The WSU Extension Clark County Master Gardener program is partnering with Monica Maggio of Core Home Fruit on Saturday, Feb. 7, 2015 to offer a fruit tree pruning workshop for community members who have or who are considering getting fruit trees. The workshop is from 10am to 2:30 p.m. It starts with a classroom presentation at the Luke Jensen Sports Complex community room in Vancouver, WA. After a brown bag lunch break, the class will move to the 78th Street Heritage Farm orchard for a hands-on winter pruning lesson in the afternoon. The cost of the workshop is $45; advanced registration is required at http://bpt.me/866192. Bring a brown bag lunch.
