Community Nutrition Partnership uses market-based approaches to increase access to healthy, local, and organic foods for people of all backgrounds and incomes. Our mission is to improve diets and decrease the rate of chronic disease in our community.
Dear Gardening and Veggie Van Volunteer:
You are receiving this email because you have indicated that you are interested in volunteering with CNP. We are currently in need of volunteers for the North Carolina Science Festival at UNC-Chapel Hill on Saturday, April 14.
The NC Science Festival highlights the educational, cultural and financial impact of science in NC. Through hands-on activities, science talks, nature experiences, and exhibits, the Festival engages a children and their families. CNP has been asked to help children get excited about local food through cooking demonstrations and gardening!
We're in need of volunteers to (1) help kids plant seedlings to take home with them and (2) cooking demos with local, organic produce. All supplies will be provided, all you need to do is show up with a smile! If you enjoy children, plants, and food please email Lindsey with your preferred shift and I'll send you more detailed information:
Gardening Volunteer Shift 1: 10:30AM - 1:00PM
Gardening Volunteer Shift 2: 1:00PM - 3:30PM
Cooking/Nutrition Demo Volunteer Shift 1: 10:30AM - 1:00PM
Cooking/Nutrition Demo Volunteer Shift 2: 1:00PM - 3:30PM
