Dear CNPS Santa Clara Valley members,
Check out our chapter's upcoming events:

[1] Fall Plant Sale and temporary online nursery store closure
Our nursery is too small for safe in-person shopping, so this year you can buy plants from the safety and comfort of your home at our online store:
california-native-plant-society-santa-clara-valley-chapter.square.site
The online nursery store will be shutting down on October 1 to prepare for the Fall sale. We have a Going Native Garden Tour (GNGT) Session on Saturday, October 10. The online nursery will reopen for the Fall sale immediately after the GNGT event. Please go to this page for more information: http://cnps-scv.org/2020-plant-sale

[2] Lake Cunningham Workdays
Saturday, October 3 2020, 8:00 am
https://www.meetup.com/California-Native-Plant-Society-Santa-Clara-Valley-Chapter/events/ckkmwrybcnbfb/

NEW TIME: 8:00 am
NEW VENUE: PARKING LOT E (at the north shore of the lake).

Help eradicate the invasive non-native annual stinkwort (Dittrichia graveolens) from Lake Cunningham Park, San Jose. Our efforts over the last several years are showing results.

We follow City of San Jose guidelines for volunteering during the pandemic: face covering, social distancing, no tool sharing. Bring your own bucket and a weeding mattock (and knee pad, if you prefer that). Wear a face covering, hat, gloves, sturdy garden shoes. Bring plenty of fluids and hydrate often.

We start with a 10-minute orientation, then walk to the site, so please be on time.

First-timers: Bring a signed waiver form available at https://lakecunninghamnativegarden.files.wordpress.com/2020/05/2020-volunteer-status-and-waiver-of-liability.pdf

In Google maps search for "Lake Cunningham Park Rd Parking" (now called Lot E), and follow directions exactly, else you will get lost in this 200-acre park.

Workdays are sometimes rescheduled or canceled. Always RSVP to confirm, and check the latest updates Friday night. If you can't make it, please change your RSVP so we know.

[3] Going Native Garden Tour: Planting Demo, Nursery Tour and Q&A session
Saturday, October 10 2020, 10:00 am
Virtual event

There's a twist on our Going Native Garden Tour session in October - rather than our usual garden visits, we'll be visiting the CNPS Nursery. Our 2020 fall plant sale is going to be online and will start immediately after the session (more information available at http://cnps-scv.org/2020-plant-sale). Since you will not be able to come to the nursery to pick your plants out, we're doing our best to bring the nursery to you. This session will include a planting demonstration by Krzysztof Kozminski and tour of the nursery followed by a Q&A session with knowledgeable native plant gardeners so that you can ask for advice and get answers to questions about specific plants that will be available at the sale.

The session will be live-streamed on YouTube and Zoom. :

If you have questions, we recommend attending via Zoom. Zoom requires advance registration:

The session will be recorded on YouTube, so if you cannot attend the broadcast, you will be able to view it on our YouTube channel at your convenience.
