mail sending problems

I'm having some issues with sending mail function in cnprog

can someone tell me please, if this example setting using gmail is
O.K?

SERVER_EMAIL = ''
DEFAULT_FROM_EMAIL = 'cnprog...@gmail.com'
EMAIL_HOST_USER = 'cnprog...@gmail.com'
EMAIL_HOST_PASSWORD = 'cnprogpass'
EMAIL_SUBJECT_PREFIX = '[cnprog]'
EMAIL_HOST='smtp.gmail.com'
EMAIL_PORT='587'
EMAIL_USE_TLS=True

Or I must use a non-gmail email?

of course you should replace those settings with your own.
you can use your own gmail account for example,
or set up your own mailserver
