Hi! Our hospital doesn’t do anything specifically with stroke codes and the lab, but with rapid responses or codes, we have a separate order sheet that we send down with the sample to the lab. The sheet is bright pink and says something like ”Super STAT” or “Rapid STAT labs.” The bright pink paper is in all the code books on top of the code carts so they’re easily accessible and when the lab sees the bright pink order sheets, they make those labs a priority. During a rapid or code, the provider physically checks off which labs they want run on the pink paper and don’t electronically order them, or else they’re considered duplicate orders. An idea like this could probably help your lab during stroke codes.
