Opinion/recommendation to Single Consignment

Greetings from CNI!

 

This is for your information that Government is planning to start “Single goods (Chapter in HS code) in one Consignment/Container” in import, as provisioned in the Finance Act 2076/77.

A letter from the Ministry of Industry Commerce and Supplies and list of Goods that are allowed in one consignment as prescribed by Department of Customs is attached herewith for your reference.

In this regard, CNI would like to request its valued members to go through the document and suggest CNI Secretariat the following;

 

1-      What difficulties will be created by this new provision and what are remedies?

2-      Which chapters (Goods) should CNI suggest to ministry to club in the consignment so that our import will be easier

(Here Chapter means first two digits of HS Code)

CNI anticipates the suggestions from its members by 25^th July 2019.

This provision will create problem/s for industries - where we have to combine many products in one container for import.

Especially for the import of Pharma Raw Materials and Excipients – we need to ask the government to allow the similar materials in one container - irrespective of the HS Codes. We shall forward the details soon

 

Nonetheless I request our executives to send the share this problem to this committee - as there will be many other industries where materials needs to be clubbed and imported in one container.
