THE ELIMINATE PROJECT
(written by Tiffany Por, UCR)

Good news! As of today, at least 20 countries have eliminated MNT (maternal and neonatal tetanus). With all of our efforts there are as little as 38 countries left to eliminate this silent killer of a disease by the year 2015. Click these blurbs for a little more info on the disease:

P.S. the second link is an article looking heavily at the bacteria causing the disease (for all you science junkies out there!)

NOT FOR SALE
(written by Nam Hoang, UNR)

http://www.notforsalecampaign.org/news/2012/01/27/from-south-africa-young-survivor-returns-home-to-china/

One of the few inspiring real life story about a Chinese woman who was forced to work in Africa and eventually rescue and received special care by Not For Sale in South Africa. Kim, who just recently returned home to China is one of the many that has been rescued by this organization. You can click on the link to read Kim's stories and many others like her who have been rescued by Not For Sale.

PEDIATRIC TRAUMA PROGRAM
(written by Gerard Gaw)

So for those of you who haven't hear about Pediatric Trauma Program or have heard too much about it and just want to help, then definitely check out this website that can help you know more about the program: http://www.chla.org/site/c.ipINKTOAJsG/b.7521617/k.3402/Community_Programs_and_Impact.htm.

Or you can check out their stories through: http://www.wearechildrens.org/category/share-your-story/

Again, for those of you who don't know about Pediatric Trauma Program, then a little background is that this is one of our DFI's that focuses on raising funds to train specialized doctors and treatment specialists to cope with this alarming anomaly - often fatal - that is one of the easiest and most preventable catastrophes in the world. So even if you can't support, just educating yourself about this is more than enough.

"The brick walls are there for a reason. The brick walls are not there to keep us out; the brick walls are there to give us a chance to show how badly we want something. The brick walls are there to stop the people who don't want it badly enough." ~ Randy Pausch, "The Last Lecture"
