THE ELIMINATE PROJECT
(written by Garvey Su, UCLA)Check out this ABC News article, posted on December 16th, 2011:
here.
ABC News covers The Eliminate Project as one of its longer news videos. Gathering footage from Africa, where maternal and neo-natal tetanus runs rampant, it covers babies in pain and mothers in distress with a narrator explaining details of the disease and how the District Fundraising Initiative strives to eliminate it. The personal interviews give first-hand information about their struggles. The documentary-style narration amplifies the strength and power of the emotional scenes that really hit home to viewers.

NOT FOR SALE

Check out these links about Passion 2012, a campaign to raise money against human slavery:

The above three links retell of what happened at Passion 2012, a large event held by the Passion City Church. The goal of this event was to raise $1 million to help end human slavery and trafficking, but attendees tripled that amount, reaching a total of over $3.3 million! White flags used at the event were made at NFS's project in India. The 27,000 white flags were strewn across the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, Georgia, as a reminder of the myriad of people that still live in human slavery today.
Not For Sale is a beneficiary of this sum. Funds will be sent to New Delhi, India, to provide vocational training for 100 survivors, mainly women, of human trafficking. Funds will also be sent to South Africa to help NFS's crisis center at Cape Town. NFS South Africa plans to find a new building so that it will be more recognized by local officials and provide better care and treatment for survivors.
Passion 2012 is a great example of how university students were able to come together and help fundraiser toward a common goal for many various organizations. It's also a great sign that the issue of modern-day human trafficking and slavery is rampant among students' and young adults' minds from all over the globe. Passion City Church has its home base in Atlanta, Georgia.
