Not For Sale (by Tiffany Por - UCR)
Most of society sees that human trafficking happens overseas in countries such as Thailand and Vietnam. However, human trafficking also exists right here in the United States! Around 27 million individuals are still in captivity or in bondage, but we only know that much. The fight to end human slavery begins by revealing it. There may be human trafficking incidents around your neighborhood! You can use/view this map to see any documented incidents of human slavery/trafficking in areas around the U.S.: http://www.slaverymap.org/
SlaveryMap exists to record and display instances of human trafficking across the globe. Whether you find them hidden in your hometown or covered in The New York Times, report the incidents onto this map for people everywhere to see. If you encounter a current situation of bondage, do not enter the information here. Please immediately call the US national trafficking hotline number so that the proper law enforcement and service providers can be alerted: 1-888-3737-888.
