Anyone know anything about cnc grinding or found any great sources on it in books or otherwise? Specifically profiles in steels.

We have a number of CNC grinders of various sorts at work.  

If you are trying to grind a complex shape into steel, you generally use a wheel that has a profile on it to match what you want ground.  So if you are making moulding knives to cut your own mouldings for your house, you would create a wheel with the profile on it and grind your steel with that.

There are other multi axis type cnc grinders, but they tend to be for finishing a shape or very small detail work like medical devices.

Not sure if that is in the ballpark of what you are trying to do, but that was my best guess.

I kind of already knew that. Im looking at what it would take to make a cnc grinder for motion components like bearings and linear bearings. Im aware the precision needed is insane. .0001

THAT is very specialized equipment and is much higher tolerance than that.  .0001 (a tenth) would be bad precision for a bearing let alone a single needle.

Don't bearing mfg cheat a bit when their tolerance s exceed there cababilities?  I seem to recall seeing some videos where finished bearings are sorted and grouped by size and then matched to races for appropriate fit.
