Job description:

Red Hat is seeking a software engineer to contribute to the development of Red Hat's cloud-based problem analysis and resolution platform.
This candidate will take the responsibility to build customer facing tools and services to automatically detect, classify, and resolve problems experienced in the usage of software in Red Hat's product portfolio.
The ideal individual should be proactive, creative, self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced, distributed environment.

Responsibilities:

- Analyze business requirements and convert them into feasible work items

- Communicate with users and domain experts to get requirements

- Work with other developers to fulfill requirements and verify correctness.

- Be actively involved in tools design, development, troubleshooting, documentation

- Use technologies that are appropriate for the platform.

- Collaborate with other developers across multiple departments and technology stacks for cross team projects

Requirements:

* Strong knowledge of Linux, including kernel, networking, file system, firewall, security, clustering, visualization.

* Excellent troubleshooting and debugging skills, with a passion for problem solving and investigation

* Extensive experience in scripting languages Python, Perl and Shell is preferred.

* Software development and programming under Linux/Unix environment experience is preferred

* Experienced in a customer service or technical support environment, in a technology-oriented company or department

* Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) is a plus.

* Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science or equivalent experience

* Prior participation in open source software projects is a strong positive

* Good communication skills, fluent in both oral and written English
