Job Description:

The Harness Software Engineer in Teradata SQL Lab will apply database
knowledge and programming skills to develop distributed test framework, ETL
system, etc. The ideal candidate will develop test framework and ETL
system, and program in Perl, SQL and Teradata branded script. The team in
China is part of a large US, China, and India SQL Lab team.


Responsibilities:

Develop test framework and ETL system: Perl program development, SQL
design and performance tuning, data load script design.
Use agile development processes to do software development to a
successful outcome
Be able to work within a quality and configuration management
process
Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrate good teamwork skills, self-motivated, and keen to
embrace new technology

Requirements:
Expertise in Perl/Python/Shell script programming. Perl experience
is preferred.
Strong programming skills in SQL, and solid knowledge with
relational database
Experience with any RDBMS such as DB2, Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL,
PostgreSQL etc.
Bachelors or higher degrees in technology-related fields
3+ years of experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Master degree preferred
Experience in ETL development and sustaining a plus
Understanding of database query optimization techniques a plus
Teradata knowledge a plus, certified TD Masters will be given
priority in consideration
