Quick worded tour.
Entering the private entrance, at the top if the carpeted steps is a small
coat closet and, opposite it, a door to a sunroom with plenty of windows.
The sunroom leads right into the living room with two front windows, and
two small windows on either side of a working brick fireplace (not one of
those bricked up unusable ones you usually see in Squirrel Hill). The
fireplace has a relatively new wooden mantle matching the floors, and is
flanked by shelving built into the walls.
Next, through the French doors into the dining room with a ceiling fan
installed just last year and two windowed cabinets (for your displayable
barware, dinnerware, etc) on each side of a large window.
These three rooms in the front of the aparment all have dark hardwood
floors.
The kitchen has plenty of cabinets, stove, fridge, recently installed
dishwasher, range hood with a place for a microwave and a ceiling fan. The
door at the end of the kitchen leads to a landing with hook-ups for a
washer and dryer right next to the door, and steps down to the storage
areas in the basement.
Continuing down the hallway, to the left is the bathroom (small but
functional), and the second bedroom featuring three windows and a closet
with some built-in shelving and a mirror on the door.
Finanlly, there's the large master bedroom: it used to be two bedrooms,
but the owner knocked out a wall and made it one. Big ceiling fan right
over where the bed could be. Four windows really let the light in. The
master bedroom has 2 closets: a large walk-in closet with plenty of
built-in shelving and two levels of clothes-hanger rods (this was the
clincher for my girlfriend when we started looking); and a smaller closet
with wooden shelving built up the sides and high and low hanger rods. The
closets both have fluorecent lighting controlled by the same switch.
The hallway and the bedrooms all have the same recently installed and
unoffensive grayish-blue carpet that covers the steps in the entryway.
There is even an allocated spot in the 2-car garage in the rear of the
house for one car.
Summarize: sunroom, fireplace, hardwood floors front, carpet back, lots `o
windows, W/D hookups, storage, free parking spot, huge master bedroom,
walk-in closet
The apartment will be available after June 4 (we're leaving the state),
and more than likely you will sign a new lease with the management company
(we're breaking the lease, and trying to make it as painless as possible
for everyone). The management company is pretty good at keeping up wth
maintenance and repairs.
We also have a washer and dryer (not even a year old) currently attached
to the hook-ups, and two window air conditioners (one for the bedroom, one
for the living room) that we may be willing to part with for adequate
compensation, assuming we do not need them for our new home.
Call (412) 421-3423 if you're interested (no e-mails, please).
