The University of Southern California (USC) Department of Computer Science
(http://cs.usc.edu) invites applications for tenure-track positions at all
levels from outstanding candidates in Intelligent Agents, Multi-Agent
Systems, and/or Machine Learning. Exceptional candidates in other areas of
Artificial Intelligence (and Computer Science) may also be considered. We
are particularly seeking candidates with strong collaborative inclinations.

USC's Intelligent Systems Group comprises approximately thirty faculty
located at USC's University Park Campus, its outposts in Marina del Rey --
the Information Sciences Institute (ISI) and the Institute for Creative
Technology (ICT) -- and the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL). Research
topics include collaboration, computational neuroscience and neural
networks, education, emotion, humanoid robots and virtual humans,
intelligent agents and multi-agent systems, knowledge acquisition and
representation, machine learning, multi-robot systems and nanorobots,
natural language processing, ontologies, planning, and vision.

The computer science department at USC is similarly large and diverse,
comprising more than sixty faculty, with emphases in addition to
intelligent systems in such areas as algorithms, compilers and operating
systems, computer architecture, databases and information management,
distributed scalable systems and high performance computing, genomics and
organic computing, graphics and multi-media, networking and security,
software engineering, theory of computation, and user interfaces. The
broader computer science community at USC includes not only the Computer
Science Department, the Computer Engineering Program within the Electrical
Engineering Department, ISI, and ICT, but also the Integrated Media Systems
Center (IMSC), an NSF Engineering Research Center focusing on computer
interfaces, information management and media communications.

If interested, please send a comprehensive resume, a list of references,
and a statement of goals to: Paulina Tagle, Computer Science, USC SAL 300,
Los Angeles, CA 90089-0781 (pau...@pollux.usc.edu). USC is an Equal
Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer and encourages applications from
women and minorities.
