artistic faces

hi all,

I started playing with this, in mind to use for an Augmented Reality app (it's gentle, identify clay people statue names using face detection/matching).

I was delighted to find building 1-4 pictures over 4 people/subdirs readily matched well other pictures of people as best matches (yay!)

However, with stylized faces/bodies (these are ~3' statues, eg: http://www.internetarchivists.org/ ) I'm finding the matching goes kinda out the window.

I saw another post related to pets/cats (nice!) and questions, but am wondering if anyone has any thoughts?
