MSIT or MISM for visa interview?

hey guys..

for the visa interview if the VO asks which course we are taking, do
we mention MISM or MSIT (cos its mentione in i 20)
If we say MISM he might ask why is it mentioned as MS IT in i 20
right?
don wanna screw up interview cos of this..pls help!

in mine i/w i said MISM !
and if he asks that in i20 it is MSIT then you can alwys say that recently name of crse has been changed by univ.

I guess it shud not an issue

Hi Sneha,

I was infact asked about the course.

I said "Information systems Management". VO didn't cross check and ask
further questions

It's better to say what is mentioned in the I 20, coz it wouldn't contradict the information mentioned in the I 20.

I mailed Holy Wilson about this isssue and i got this reply. Here's
the conversation:

What I sent them:
Respected Mam,

I am Anoop from India. I have been awarded admit to the MISM program
(16th month track) for the term fall 2009. I had received my I-20 form
through courier. In the I-20 form,in field that asks for "course of
study at this school, majoring in" , it is printed as "Informtaion
Tecnology (NEW)". Is it correct or should it be MISM in that filed ?
Please carify my doubt.

The reply I got:
Hi Anoop,

Yes, that is correct. We only have a few options to select from and
Information Technology is the closest to Information Systems.

This really helped anoop! thanks. I asked in IMS too. they also
preferred MISM since sating MSIT has greater chances of getting 221g
as they need to do a background check if the course is more technical.
