@Seniors:: Question on University Laptops!!

Hi seniors

 

I saw this thread, still wanted to check whats the norm with ECE grads, do they buy their own laptops or use the IBM TPs through Univ Laptop Scheme?

None of us have bought those expensive laptops from the unversity store. the big orices is coz they offer replacement at campus itself. Wait for the college season to open up, laptops get damn cheap in bestbuy. refrain from getting from india, coz chargers have shown problems, even though they hould work with all voltages.

I bought Macbook ($999) from the university laptop store and it was
the best decision I made! Mac OS X is far superior than any Windows
version in terms of its speed, stability and startup times. Plus you
have the inbuilt unix terminal which is very useful for your projects.
And yes you get an i-Pod touch free! :D
