I have uploaded few files which might be useful regarding practical
info for studying and living in Pittsburgh, things to carry to US from
Indian point of view and other nice tips for USA.

The link below will be quite useful both at present and also during
your stay in Pittsburgh. It will not only give you information about
housing and stuff but you can also buy second hand items like books,
bikes, furniture and other house hold items through hundreds of posts
which are put up daily on this site.

IGSA (Indian Graduate Student Association) at Carnegie Mellon
University is a Student Organization constituted to represent and
bring together the Graduate Students on the Campus who are from India.
It takes care of new students by making temporary arrangements for
their stay for a week or two until they can find an aptment.

guys, please avoid lobos management if you can. they are notorious for
being a bad organization for bad houses and not responding to
complaints. stick with meyers, walnut or else go for private landlords
at your own risk, but are cheaper than meyers and walnut.

@Hemant: Thanks Man for that Valuable advice! Will surely follow it!
Great work by u for helping us ECE folks. Anyway can u please also
spell out the visa procedure for all of our benefit... There is a
thread started in Orkut forums also by the name of Visa Application or
something. I guess commenting there would benefit all guys and not
just ECE folks.

Thanks!
Ram
