Size of the CMS Comments field at the measure level

I am trying to confirm the size of the optional comments field in the excel spreadsheet at the measure level. ie. column V,AD,AL,AQ, etc. 

I seem to remember 140 characters but cannot confirm in the help or any documentation I can find. Can anybody please confirm 140?

Hi - The comments field in the Excel template will allow less than or equal to 1000 characters.
