Hi Team,

For each measure there has been two new column under 'Is the patient qualified for this measure?' category:
1. "Skip Request Status" - which was not there in previous year
2. "Skip Request Case Number" - presumably "QPP Service Center Case Number" from 2018 PQRS Excel Template
and both the column hint text says "Submit the skip request manually through the Web Interface".

Data Dictionary says : "this field will be populated with the status on the next download with data."

Are we supposed to download Excel files in intervals while we submit the skip request in Web Interface?

Please provide the complete URL to "Submit the skip request manually through the Web Interface".

Please explain the work flow, what happens when we select "No - Other CMS Approved Reason" in Excel file for any measure.

Thanks,
Manjunath V

Hi Manjunath,

This is a new process this year.  Instead of having to contact the Service Center Help Desk to request "No - Other CMS Approved Reason" we have integrated this within the CMS Web Interface application.  We'll have more details published once the CMS Web Interface User Guide is posted on the QPP Resource Library but until then here is a little more information:

To submit a "No - Other CMS Approved Reason", you'll need to log into the CMS Web Interface site and navigate to report data page (and filter by the measure is easiest).
  1. Navigate to the beneficiary you have a unique reason this patient does not qualify for the measure (that is not specified in the measure specifications).
  2. Select Edit Data next to the beneficiary record
  3. Confirm the patient qualifies for the sample
  4. Scroll down to the affected measure(s) to the question asking if the patient is qualified for the measure
  5. Click the underlined line in the answer “No – Request Other CMS-Approved Reason”.
  6. Enter your email address
  7. Provide a description why the beneficiary is not qualified for the measure and click Request CMS Approval.
    • Take note of the disclaimer and the reminder that you should never provide PII or PHI
  8. You will see a modal confirming that your request was submitted, along with a case number for tracking.

If you select "No - Other CMS Approved Reason" in Excel or through the API, you'll need to follow the steps above to submit your skip request as these request can only be submitted manually through the user interface.

You can see this whole process in the CMS Web Interface User Demonstration located here: https://youtu.be/TVruUxzOKfU

Thanks!
Laura
