i have tried installing the virtual machine in order to prepare for tomorow's lab, however i keep getting the error telling me to reinstall the application, which I have done several times. I have spent a lot of hours trying to fix the problem and do not know what to do

Based on this Link, it seems to be a common issue. Follow the instructions on this link and let us know what happened.

i've tried following the steps in the thread, but i still end up with the same error

A prerequisite for this course is being able to run a VM or being able to ssh into CSIL.
We suggest that you either work remotely on CSIL or install the VM.
We cannot support specific virtual box installation issues.
