this happens when you are writing git commands in a repository that does not have a .git file. meaning you're in the wrong repository.

Can you tell me what should I do, do I need to delete the previous Assignment 6 and clone the new one?

just use the git commands in the repository in which you cloned the assignment, use ls -a to find the .git file
