Question: Hi Arrvindh, i wanted to ask about the grading scheme. In your discussion about Grading poll, I observed that if 2/3 of the class did course evaluations, you will change the grading scheme to  Assignment 4 - 13% Assignment 5 :15% Midterm: 7% Final: 10%. In my opinion, that is not fair as i worked really hard from the beginning (keeping in mind the previous grading scheme) and managed to get good grade in all the assignments and the midterm. Now if the grading scheme changes, all my hardwork will go in vain because of less number of votes. I hope you can understand that the new marking scheme is good for them who were not able to do good in midterm and assignment3 but for others, its unfair.

i wanted to make a serious request to keep the marking scheme as it was before since a fair chance was given to everyone from the beginning and it would be really unfair to the students who worked hard. I hope you understand my concern.

I am not sure you understand your concern. 

1. There is no change in the grading scheme of Assignment 1-3.

2. It has minimal to no impact on your own grade if you did well in midterm, assignment 4 and 5. It just moves it from one place to another. 

3. Finally your own grade does not fully depend on other people grade. The final letter grade is a combination of both the curve and absolute numbers.
