After messing around for quite a while with Visual SFM, changing my x32 Windows to an x64 and a lot of searching i have to ask anyway. Is there no way to use CMPMVS if I don't have a Nvidia card?

There is waste-cuda, I installed it and tried to run CMPMVS trough it, but then I get the message that the Program can't be run because d3dx9_42.dll is missing (like without waste). I thought I installed all the dependencies like DirectX and a couple of other libraries. Is it still an error with my setup, or just not possible?

Anyway my plan is (just) to create an orthorectified photo with the output from Visual SFM, is there any alternative in case CMPMVS is really not working. It will be used a lot with a huge amount of data, so I'm not sure if the webservice is an alternative...

Thx

Hey,

Sadly I don't have good news for you.

Regarding alternatives, others may correct me but at least I can say that I have not found anything free that is remotely close to the quality of CMPMVS.

If you check I wrote a while ago about having the same problem not being able to use nVidia card... I have since been talking a lot to Ken of cuda-waste (he's it's developer) and he has been very kind and nice and began re-work on the project and is trying to make it compatible with CMPMVS too, he's been really great. It is not working yet (he put out a new version about 2 weeks ago, but it still had some errors), but I  am very hopeful he may get it working. I am working on a project for college that involves the use of CMPMVS, and currently I run it on my own computer as a workaround instead of my college server.
It does look like your problem with cuda-waste is not the real error but rather a missing DirectX dll, try reinstalling the latest version.

Good luck!
Gil

I used this directx installer and it fixed the missing d3dx9_2.dll error.  This solution might be unique to my setup, but probably worth a shot: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35

You are using here close source software: (VisualSfM, CMPMVS) that do not have update since a long time.

There other openSource alternatives that are more in activity:
