Someone mentioned (not too long ago) about the possibility of reporting
gas prices in town, to find the best deal. There is a website that
compiles these kinds of self-reports, and I thought that we might want to
chip in and start using it:

Given how quickly prices have been changing recently, I'm not sure how
useful this would be. Twice in the last week I've sat waiting at Casey's
while the pump price was being changed (once down, once up).
It's a lost cause, I think. The oil companies and the gas stations know
that it's not a very price-sensitive commodity, so they have nothing to
lose (literally) by raising the price.

However, this service looks worth while, I'll try to add a few sometime
this week.

I do just that, about 175 gallons at a time!.
Sometimes I also go to Charleston, gas is always cheaper there but 15
or more cents.

If you go to the www.aaa.com site, they have a link to gas prices across the
country, and then within each state it says the prices for the major cities.
It is about 1 week delayed. We were all set to go and get 1.53 gas in indy,
when it says now it is 1.68. I *hate* gas companies. -jenny

So what do you do, Matt, drive a tanker truck over to Indiana and fill it
up? And then have an underground storage tank back here in C-U to hold
the gas? I don't think even a semi holds 175 gallons, does it? And don't
semis burn diesel?
Well, dumb questions, I suppose.....

Nationwide/Worldwide FUEL BOYCOTT!!!!!
ExxonMobil - This is the big guy! GAS will be 11 cents higher again
6/9/00. Rumored to hit $3.00 a gallon by summers end. (Thank you to our
truck drivin' friends)
Remember months back when we boycotted gas stations in general for ONE
day? Who is that going to hurt really? Nobody!! Certainly NOT the gas
companies - we filled up the day before or the day after.
WHAT IF we picked ONE company and boycotted THAT company and products?
Wouldn't that make someone stand up and pay attention? Wouldn't they
wonder WHY they aren't as busy as the Shell station across the street?
Wouldn't they go to their union board with OPEC and say "maybe the
consumer doesn't like to pay these high gas prices"? Wouldn't that
company have to put pressure on ALL the other companies to lower prices?
After careful consideration and investigation of oil/gas sites around
the web, and the fact that they are not only United States nationwide,
but are also in Canada, the U.K. and Europe - we picked ExxonMobil.
Too cheap to buy a double hull boat to prevent that disastrous oil spill
a few years back, now merged with Mobil oil - Exxon not only merged with
Mobil just recently but also owns Imperial Oil and Mobil Canada in
Canada, and Esso in the U.K. and Europe.
When you receive this boycott announcement - TODAY is the day to start
boycotting this company. Also - pass this on to as many people as you
know around the world.
Go to this site and you can find the ExxonMobil stations in your area or
for traveling - AVOID THEM.
http://www.exxon.mobil.com/mobil_station_locator/index.html
Let's see how they like NOT making so much money off of us little
guys!!! It's about time the people dictate the gas prices instead of
the gas companies.
What is liable to happen - ExxonMobil drops their prices - WAIT to
patronize them until they ALL drop their prices. We didn't mind paying
$1.25 a gallon. As I write this we are at $1.79 a gallon. ($1.96 as of
6/16/00) In September, 1999 we were at 89 cents!
