Yes, I know this question is probably asked bi-weekly, but I need some
referrals to some good eye doctors for a basic eye exam. I've never
had one done in town, and my doctor in Chicago just moved :-(

I wish there was a way to search through archived posts. There isn't
is there? I know Deja doesn't carry small, local newsgroups.

Thanks,
Garrick

Probably the least expensive place to be
examined by an optometrist is Walmart
It's also the lease expensive place to get glasses.

If you're willing to pay Carle prices, I think Scott Ohl at Carle is one of
the best optometrists I've ever come across. When I moved here, he was
recommended to me by a friend who's an optometrist in another community as
being the best in town.

OTOH, I wouldn't pay a nickle more (or $150-200 more, which is more
accurate) for glasses/contacts from Carle opticians. Contacts is contacts
(I'm talking name brand, here). I get mine at Wal-Mart, where they're about
$10/box cheaper than that 1-800 place that advertises they can save you a
ton of money on contacts.

$0.02
