Greetings:

Well, we tried the 'drive-through' at the new Hot Wok on N. Mattis
yesterday late afternoon (~4:45 p.m.). I'm not too impressed, though
not absolutely turned-off by the restaurant.

We ordered pork fried rice with egg roll ($4.80) and a side order of Won
Ton apptetizer of 10 ($1.70 IIRC). Because we don't like green peas, we
requested "no green peas please." It was rather funny when the voice
over the speaker came back and said "chicken teriyaki?" when confirming
our request. Instead, we drove around to the window to personally speak
with the guy to give him our order. During the whole time for our
order, we were the only car in the drive-through lane.

We did learn that HW makes their PFR w/out green peas, but the chicken
and shrimp fried rice do come with peas.

The pork fried rice serving was quite generous. A whole big styrofoam
take-care container full of brown rice!!! But, the amount of pork
included with the rice was quite stingy. There was hardly any pork
there; more like a mountain of brown rice. There was nary a bit of
any scrambled egg, and they used regular onions instead of green onions,
so the dish was rather uncolorful and lacked visual appeal. The flavor
was unremarkable, just ordinary.

The eggroll was rather tasty and quite crispy--just the way I like
them. It was rather fresh I believe.

The wonton were nothing to speak about, but then they were just typical
fried wonton, crispy and not too greasy.

We'll try it again. It's too bad they didn't have a 'to-go' menu when I
asked them. I also forgot to inquire if they do delivery. I believe
they might since I saw the Rantoul HW will offer that service after that
location is open. As always, YMMV.

PS. We were only able to taste the above food, because a very hungry
predatory adolescent teenager (is that an oxymoron?) 'attacked' (grin)
the packaged meal upon our arrival at home. He must've been waiting for
our to get home.
