Hi Folks,
The Book Store is open today, Wednesday, June 29 from 3 to 8 pm. In honor
of July 4th, we have all sorts of books that relate to the holiday. This is
a truly disparate collection that Marg, Steve and I have put together on the
front tables so connections may seem a bit obscure to you. We've also added
a lot more books so I think this week is worth a trip to the Farm.
We wish you a sane and safe holiday celebrating our hard fight for freedom.

Hi Folks,
The Book Store will be open tomorrow, Wednesday, from 3 to 8 pm.  Our front table display will be books on fashion, costume, jewelry and gems.  We've also moved local area interest, expanded first edition and signed categories and added lots more books in most categories.  There are more "new" old books and every standard paperback is new.

I am including a detailed message about needing volunteers for our upcoming 18th Century Summer Market Fair.  If you've ever wanted to really join us in "Colonial Land", this would be a great time to do it.  Or if time traveling seems a bit over the top, we need help from modern workers too.  Read on if this intrigues you!

Thank you for supporting the Farm and we hope to see you soon.

The July Market Fair is now less than two weeks away and the farm is really starting to pick up steam in the set-up for it! The dates for this years July Market Fair are July 16 & 17th.

Currently we are running VERY Short on volunteers for this Market Fair, both in costume and behind-the-scenes. Remember, if you volunteer even for a few hours, you will be given tobacco notes to enjoy some of the fabulous food served at Market Fair, for free! (Excludes items available at the tavern, and certain pies & breads at bakery)

This is also a great time to get in some of those Community Service hours needed for school! Please note children under 12 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. We especially need help in the following areas on the following dates:

Saturday July 16th:
-Front Gate; modern clothes (all shifts available 10-12, 12-2, 2-4) (collecting admission, signing in members, counting visitors)

-Signing in Volunteers and Handing out Tobacco Notes; modern clothes (9 am until 11 am)

-Working at Tavern; Costume, all day. handing out drinks and collecting payment from customers. Must be 21 to work at this stand.

- Theater Troupe; Costume, all day. Performing skits at various intervals from period appropriate plays. No experience required; in fact, the worse & more theatrical you are, the better!

Sunday July 17th:

-Front Gate; modern clothes (all shifts available 10-12, 12-2, 2-4) (collecting admission, signing in members, counting visitors)

-Signing in Volunteers and Handing out Tobacco Notes; modern clothes (9 am until 11 am)

-Working at Tavern; Costume, all day. handing out drinks and collecting payment from customers. Must be 21 to work at this stand.

- Working at Men's Goods; Costume, all day. Sell goods that would be of interest to the 18th century gentleman. Items for sale may include: compasses, knives, chess sets, dice for tavern games etc.

-Dry Goods; Costume, all day. Sell goods that an 18th century lady may find essential to creating a lovely home. Items for sale may include: pottery, decorative decor, baskets etc.

- Theater Troupe; Costume, all day. Performing skits at various intervals from period appropriate plays. No experience required; in fact, the worse & more theatrical you are, the better!

-Market Fair Take Down; modern clothes; 5-7 pm. Help tear down and transport sales items, food stuffs, some decorative items to clean up the Market Fair grounds.

If you are available and would like to help in any way, please email hbo...@1771.org with your name, date(s) & time(s) available as well as what you would prefer to work at.
