Meditating with mantras is one of the most powerful ways to quiet the fluctuations of the mind. A mantra is a tool for the mind, and it allows our awareness to more easily turn inward. Mantras are dedicated to the divine, to the supreme ones above humanity who protect the humans from harm and evil. Mantras are a way to connect to the higher universe, every sound and vibration of the mantra connects the being to the larger Brahman. They offer inner peace, stable mental functions and prosperity to the chanter and hold great value in Vedic cultures.

I was initiated into TM (Transcendental Meditation of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi) over 3o years ago, so I use that technique, by using Shring as my mantra rather than my TM Mantra. In meditation I go much deeper than I did with `Shreem,' sometimes I feel wonderful, things just fall into place, and I feel completely surrounded by the energy of abundance. At other times I feel terrible as all kinds of long forgotten negative feelings come to the surface, it's at these times that I feel like returning to `Shreem,' but I think I'll stick with `Shring' as it is obviously working.
