Amy, meanwhile, has reached four in her involuntary countdown and is not doing well. While River and Octavian have a little argument about waiting for the Doctor, the man himself shows up, just in time to see Amy begin to decline. Not just decline, in fact; she's dying, which everyone is quickly made aware of because the Doctor doesn't believe in beating about the bush. He also doesn't have a good bedside manner as he tries to figure out what's wrong with her. It turns out that, having looked the Angel in the eyes, there's an Angel growing in her mind, or more specifically in the vision centres of her brain. When Bob is asked why the Angels are making her count, it turns out that it's not for anything important, it's simply to make her afraid For the Evulz. The Doctor is not happy.
Later, back on the surface, the Doctor reassures Amy that the Angel inside her head is gone, since with the deletion of the Angels the memory never existed at all. Of course, she still remembers it (and all those poor clerics) because she's got a very good Ripple-Effect-Proof Memory due to being a time traveller. This will be extremely important later. The crack, meanwhile, is gone for now, but there's still the explosion that caused it, out there, somewhere.
When the Doctor was captured by the US troopes his friends went into hiding. Whenever they saw a Silent they drew a line on their skin to show how many Silence they had seen. When the were all captured it really was just a trick. They travelled back to the warehouse where they went underground and followed a trail leading to a door. River and Rory entered along with the Doctor and Amy and saw a group of Silence with their own replica of the Tardis. When the Rocket went up into space a tricked wounded Silent said "You may as well kill us all on sight." Then the whole world saw them and for centuries remembered the Silence.The Doctor was pleased and ordered River Song to shoot them all and she did meanwhile he pretened to kill them with his Sonic Screwdriver.
The fact that the TARDIS captured by Vandar, or that appearing in the Eridian Vault, was disguised as a police call box suggests that it was the one belonging to the Doctor, as the Doctor's is permanently stuck with that particular disguise. There is the possibility, however, that these are other TARDISes that just happened to take the same disguise (such as The Monk's TARDIS), or that these are from separate alternate universes. The ancient Greek, or "Doric", column disguise, meanwhile, was sometimes adopted by the Doctor's enemy, The Master, for his own TARDIS.
K-9 and Amelia have meanwhile been tasked with protecting the projector used by the Doctor to cross the dimensions, but find themselves under attack from two of the Ogri. Vivien returns to Earth and destroys the device but spares her friend. She takes the Ogri back to the hyperspace vessel with her and there tells the Doctor and Romana she has destroyed their linking device between the dimensions, leaving them trapped in hyperspace though she, with her wand, can cross the dimensions easily. The Megara destroy one of the Ogri when it threatens them.
