CSI IT IDOL contest for IT Students of Goa

A Laptop, a digital camera and a lot of other goodies in addition to cash prizes will be at stake for this years All Goa CSI IT Idol contest for under-graduate and post-graduate students that will kick-off on 20th February with an online test to be held at Chowgule College.
This annual contest will be a test of overall as well as in-depth knowledge of Information Technology fundamentals and latest developments. The Winner and runners-up will be selected based on online test, programming test, seminar presentation and final grand interview by a panel of eminent personalities from the field of IT and business. The 1st prize will a laptop and cash of Rs 10,000/-, while second prize will be a digital camera and Rs 5,000/- and third prize carries a 1 TB external HDD and cash prize of Rs 3,000/-.
The online test that is being designed by a reputed IT company, NETECH, Verna will be conducted on 20th February, 2011(Sunday), at Chowgule College Computer Centre, Margao. The second round of programming for the short-listed candidates will be held on 6th March, 2011 at Department of Computer Science & Technology, Goa University. The 3rd and 4th rounds and prize distribution will be held on the same day which will be announced later.
This contest being organized by Computer Society of India, Goa chapter will provide not only an opportunity to win fabulous prizes but will also enable the process of benchmarking the performance of students and assess the knowledge level of Goan students in IT.
The contest is open to any BSc(Computer Science)/BCA/MCA/MSc(IT), PGDCA, BE, ME, MTech and other computer science and engineering programmes of Goa University and other institutes in Goa. The registration forms have been sent to respective Computer Science & IT departments of various colleges. Interested students should contact the faculty- incharge of the college and submit the filled-in registration form latest by 17th February along with registration fee of Rs 100/-.
