Good evening,

MY setup:
Pi 4b 2GB, 256GB sd, 2 zero 2w with sd cards, Lan IP with internet, using CNAT 2024-07-04-3-bookworm (64 bit, desktop, p1 and p2 of same date).

Found "troubleshooting" page, my ALERT light never turns off, lsusb -t does not show any added usb hubs

Any clusterctrl or clusterhat commands return  "ERROR: No ClusterHAT/CTRL devices found". Even Cluster status returns this message.

Hi,
Found "troubleshooting" page, my ALERT light never turns off, lsusb -t does not show any added usb hubs

If you're using the ClusterCTRL image and the LED doesn't go off after boot then I would first power off, check it's fully pushed onto the Controller Pi and try powering up again.

Any clusterctrl or clusterhat commands return  "ERROR: No ClusterHAT/CTRL devices found". Even Cluster status returns this message.

If pushing it further onto the controller Pi didn't help then please email Sup...@8086.net.uk with the serial number of the ClusterHAT (sticker on underside) and the output of the following if possible.

Temporarily bypass the HAT EEPROM check by editing "/etc/default/clusterctrl", find the line "#CLUSTERHAT_FORCE=1.3" and change it to "CLUSTERHAT_FORCE=2.5" save the file and reboot.

Does the alert LED go off on reboot now?

Does "clusterctrl status" work or spew out I2C errors?

Chris.

Good evening,

Will have to get back to you next week, after testing and running through your troubleshooting guide I determined its was faulty and requested a replacement. Here are the steps I took.

Setup: Raspi 4b 2GB with sd, This Hat, 2 raspi 2w with sd using 2024-07-04-3 bookwork (64, desktop, p1 and p2 same date), second test with 2024-07-04-3-bullseye (64, desktop, p1 and p2 same date)

enabled I2c

Alert light never turns off, it's supposed to turn off after OS boots. Also using the commands to manually turn it off return " Error device cannot be found"

Cluster Status returns "Error device cannot be found" same as all Clusterctrl / clusterhat commands.

lsusb -t returns no new usb hub. also attempted with known working usb cable replacements.

ls -l /dev/ttyACM* /dev/ttypi* returns cannot access no such file

sudo ifconfig -a returns : NO ethpi 1-4 interfaces.

Will follow up.
