Howdy! I've had great fun with basic Docker and Ansible experiments on my existing ClusterHAT setup, but am looking to refresh it with four Pi Zero 2 Ws. Looking forward to at least getting some k3s worker nodes going.

Forgive me if this has been asked before though I couldn't find the answer-- is the older ClusterHAT v2.3 capable of powering & running four Pi Zero 2 Ws?

Hi,

If depends on what you're going to be running on the Pi Zero 2 as they can us quite a bit of power, see https://8086.support/content/23/121/en/can-the-pi-zero-2-w-be-used-in-the-cluster-hat-with-a-pi5_pi4.html for some numbers.

The v2.3 Cluster HAT has a smaller PWR solder jumper ( https://8086.support/content/23/116/en/what-are-the-differences-in-cluster-hat-versions.html ) compared to later versions so it you're comfortable soldering it would help reduce losses if you can solder (good thickness/quality) wires between the 5V/GND holes at the front of the Cluster HAT onto the GPIO pins bypassing the thin trace on the solder jumper (or at least bridge PWR<>RPi with a solder blob) see https://8086.support/content/23/118/en/how-do-i-use-the-solder-jumpers-on-the-cluster-hat.html for a bit more info on the solder jumpers.

Thanks for this! I've no problem soldering, and will give it a go.

Love your work. Any chance you'll issue another batch of Cluster Triples for CMs?
