Hey folks,

For those of you who missed this morning (and perhaps just "for the record"), here is the link to an open source django scrum tool also in young state:

http://code.google.com/p/django-scrumtool/

Here is summary for those too lazy to open the link :)

Purpose

Backward incompatible change! As of r14 code requires newforms-admin branch!

This project will create simple (mean easy to use and not disturbing) but effective Scrum management tool for distributed Scrum teams made using Django (with newforms-admin) and Ajax with jQuery. It will have:

  • multiple projects and teams
  • stories for project with file attachments
  • sprints with tasks and their descriptions
  • burndown chart
  • stories and tasks with history of changes
  • per project impediments
  • tags for stories

There will be admin interface for all this (basic version already done) but the standard Django admin is not the best way to do fast and simple Scrum management, so there will be a dashboard for stories and tasks management powered by Ajax to simplify day by day work with the tool. Creation of sprints, projects, impediments and user management will stay on admin level, because it is not done every day!

Is this still in development? The last check-in was July 5, 2008.

We contacted the owner of the project when we were starting Agilito. We noticed django-scrumtool about a week after starting...and already we had gotten as far as he had gotten. Basically he built the datamodel (the easy part) and not made any UI. He said he was interested in help...no indication as to when he would be advancing it tho.
