Good day to all!

This was discussed at last night's meeting, for which unfortunately you guys didn't do your homework - attendance wasn't good. I know it's still cold at night, but as the MEC and Minister told Louis, the community has to look after themselves!!! I suggest - that as one couple did yesterday - at least one family member comes to the meeting. Very many important issues were discussed. They will appear in the Minutes which I will again send to all, in order that you are informed of the changes. Especially when voting takes place (like last night), it is important that we have many of you present to represent your area.

You'll hear from me. Meanwhile take care - Jackie

PS The cell number below will be taken into the Minutes.

Subject: MECs Call to Me this Morning
Importance: High

Jackie ,

I would like for you to share my morning call received at 07h00 to-day from the MEC’s Office for Safety & Security.

Mr Renesh Nuragen CSC Tel: 0848052532.

He advised me that in response to my letter concerning Lack of Service Delivery by SAPS Wierdabrug and Metro that

The MEC called both departments Directors and Station Commissioners into their offices for a report back/please explain

Session. The Station Commissioner was directed to provide answers and regular feed-back on the actions taken to sharpen

Up their service delivery and points raised.

The MECs Office extended an open and immediate invitation to all members of our community to phone him direct and approved

My making his telephone number available for complaints around lack of or poor service delivery with one proviso and that is the

Following, namely that;

  • Where reports are not handled or received or responded to correctly the Name, Rank and photo (where possible) be taken of the

Official responsible (whether on cell phone or camera makes no difference) and it be forwarded to him at time of call.

  • Where Police or Metro arrive in a vehicle and again do not record, take down or respond to reports and/or crimes their vehicle and

Reg. No be photographed as well as them and this be forwarded to their office.

  • Where SAPS/METRO are found to be acting in an unprofessional manner the above applies.

Mr Nuragen has stated we may phone him 24/7.

I have extended my appreciation and that of the community and stated we will hold him to his word. This was backedup by the Minister himself

at my recent meeting with him (03/07/08)

Would you please put this letter out unchanged to all our members. Elrina and Pierre would you please do the same.I have conveyed this message to Insp Van Schalkwyk

Thankyou

Louis Fourie
