Dear Clubview residents

We just can’t seem to break the spell of break-inns and robberies in our area.

The guards at CB Center in Durham Street saw 2 suspicious black males and upon investigation the suspects ran off. At the same time the owner of the house/guesthouse phoned Kobus Beukes from a private number to report the break-inn. We still don’t know who reported the break-inn. The neighborhood watch recovered a TV, DVD players and a speaker. The SAPS has taken this to the Wierdabrug police station.

Can the person who phoned the neighborhood watch this morning please collect your belongings from Wierdabrug SAPS?

Again the radio’s has proven to be very successful, within minutes 5 members of the neighborhood watch where in Durham Street looking for the suspects and securing the area. The neighborhood watch where there 7 minutes before the SAPS arrived. Well done!!!

A car radio was also stolen in Leyden St this morning, the particular owner did not have a radio and could therefore not report it in time to the neighbourhood watch.

Currently we have around 50 handheld radio’s in Clubview, we can already see the benefits of this.

I have included the sector manager’s details for you below, get in contact with them.

The Sector 1 CPF (Community Policing Forum) is still looking for volunteers, who are prepared to man the Call-Centre for 2 hours per week, together with a SAPS officer. No prior knowledge is needed as you will be trained. A SAPS response car, as well as Security Company vehicles will also be stationed at the Call-Centre for immediate response to reported crime. Again I am urging you to speak to your neighbours and sector managers and get involved in the neighborhood watch.

We are also looking for more sector managers, please volunteer your services.
