A Leap of Faith - On Behalf of Micah

Buenos Noches Familia,   In light of many emotional, and healing discussions with Micah's family, I have their support, and loving encouragement to speak on Micah's behalf surrounding his race. They have opened their hearts to me, giving SO MANY beautiful, personal memories of their brother "BIKEY- MIKEY."    To be honest, I have struggled with the responsibility to represent Micah in such a public way. I realize I may face the critics who note that I'm not a champion Ultra Runner, I wasn't his wife, and questioned if I was another 'groupie', with an ego for new-found attention. I refuse to let comments as these upset me. I vowed to Micah that I would continue to see that his dreams and message live on for the loving, generous Raramuri families of Las Barrancas. I simply speak from my heart, and pray that I continue to have the love of my cherished family and friends.Micah trusted me with most of his private information. Although, I never thought I'd have the need to access his life in this way. I hope you can understand.   So, here is my message on Micah's Facebook Page.     "With loving reverence and honor, my spirit speaks to the beautiful friends of Micah. I reach out with a thankful heart, in appreciation for the many thoughts of kindness extended to Micah's family, Guadajuko, and myself. I respectully use his page to assure everyone that Micah's message of Hope, Peace, Harmony, and Love for the Raramuri families of Las Barrancas Del Cobre, continues. The Caballo Blanco, Copper Canyon Ultra Marathon will take place on Sunday, March 3, 2013! As time progresses, we will continue to update everyone surrounding the exciting, beautiful elements of this sacred celebration. Please join us on our Facebook Page: The Copper Canyon Ultra Marathon. We also have created the Caballo Blanco Memorial Foundation, which will continue to support the running traditions of the Tarahumara athletes of La Sierra Madre. It's often difficult/impossible to see things from the outside when you're on the in. There will be few if any MasLoco who do not have 100% belief in you being the right person and doing the right thing.

It's so disappointing if others have cast doubt or mean spirit but if they have then it hasn't been done in the Mas Loco forum (unless I've been sleeping!!) and that is because it's not a view the Mas Loco's share or want to hear.

The CCUM 2013 will be a success for all the reasons of Korima. Mean spirit will stay away and that's the best place for it. People will come to run and try to do what they can to do some good and that will create the same magic as last year.

Iam just recently getting back to internet after being in Boulder over the weekend, running with Micah's spirit, free as a bird and wild as a horse.... Its hard to go down there with out someone spotting my Mas Loco shirt, and saying " Hey..... Nice shirt where can i get one..." or " Did you know that Caballo Blanco guy?" My response always starts simple....and ends with me telling the story of how Micah and I connected, the story of my experience in the canyons, and how the Raramuri people changed my life, and how we can help theres.... 

By the end of the talk people gather and sit in a circle as my story concludes.. Its amazing how powerful Micahs message is....... Maria... I agree with the rest of the family.... You would be perfect.. you share much of the beautiful qualities, and energy that Micah possess. And theres no way you wouldn't be able to do this... Let all the nay sayers, nay say... Screw em.. I believe in you, and the Mas Loco  family does as well. YOU CAN DO IT!!! And we will be there for you no matter what.. I will be heading down to the canyons in the early part of the new year then down to Nicaragua in Feb. to run Fuego y Agua 100km. Before i head back to Urique, for the CCUM. If you need ANY help id be happy to change around my schedule to be there for you, the CCUM, and the people of the canyons.
