Half-Life - 're back with another full port sci-Fi first-person shooter Half-Life. The game was developed by Valve Software back in 1998 and since then the game has won the hearts of many a gamer. And now we can enjoy this game on android devices. The game's plot develops in sverhsekretnye issledovatelskoe "Black Mesa" which is securely tucked away in the heart of a huge mountain. Your hero - a young and talented member of staff doctor of philosophy in theoretical physics, Gordon Freeman, working in the laboratory anomalous materials. During the next experiment, something went wrong. There was a huge explosion, after which Gordon watches a scary picture...

During her series of tests, Chell is told by GLaDOS that the appropriate Test Chamber 16 is currently unavailable due to mandatory scheduled maintenance and that it has been replaced with "a live-fire course designed for military androids". While the chamber is highly dangerous and improper for human test subjects, GLaDOS merely apologizes "for the inconvenience" and wishes Chell "the best of luck". In the chamber, Chell is first confronted by the Aperture Science Sentry Turrets and must defeat them with Weighted Storage Cubes sent through portals she creates with her portal gun. After the test is over, GLaDOS' message seems to be automatic, as she addresses Chell as if she was an android herself while she congratulates her for succeeding.

GLaDOS also reminds that the Enrichment Center's "android hell", where androids are sent "at the first sign of defiance", "is a real place". Assuming it was not a lie, as GLaDOS is prone to do, this may be an area where androids are punished, tortured, partially (or fully) destroyed, or merely a frightening term for the Emergency Intelligence Incinerator.

As GLaDOS' message is rather menacing, androids most likely do feel pain or fear for the message and the so-called "android hell" to have a purpose. In Portal 2, android hell may be related to the "chamber [GLaDOS] built where all the robots scream at you" mentioned. This is supported by the fact that GLaDOS mentions sending Wheatley to this chamber as a punishment.

They are mentioned again in the ruins of Test Chamber 03 in Portal 2, where the Announcer states their involvement at the end of the test. He assures Chell that they have been taught to read and given a copy of The Laws of Robotics to share. He also urges Test Subjects to report if the androids begin to disregard human rights.

I do much of my hiking in northern California's poison oak-covered hills. Usually I can avoid getting oaked, but after a day of tromping through this toxic weed, just how long do its oils remain active on my boots, gaiters, and trekking poles? Has science determined a half-life for poison oak's poison? Carter Napa, California

One of the several punishments GLaDOS stated she would give Wheatley was sending him to "the room where all the robots scream at you". Whether this is android hell or a different location is uncertain.

This port uses the Xash3D-FWGS engine wrapped (the now deprecated Android build, but it works perfectly for Half Life and can support multiplayer etc) wrapped in the Oculus Mobile SDK and sideloaded to the Oculus Quest. Massive kudos to all involved in the Xash3D project.

The easiest way to install this on your Quest is using SideQuest, a PC desktop app designed to simplify sideloading apps and games ( even beat saber songs on quest ) on Standalone Android Headsets like Oculus Quest and Oculus Go. It supports drag and drop for installing APK files!

Before attempting to start Lambda1VR you need to do the following:

  • Install the latest Lambda1VR version from the desktop SideQuest application
  • Create a folder on the root of your Quest's internal memory called "xash" (You will need to connect your Quest via a USB cable and enable MTP to do this).
  • Locate the install of half-life on your PC, if installed from Steam then it will be somewhere like C:/Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamApps/common/HalfLife/
  • Copy the entire folder "valve" to the newly created "xash" folder on the Quest (This will take a long time). We recommend doing this via SideQuest rather than standard Windows Explorer.
  • PC Users only: (optional - but recommended) Copy the contents of the valve_hd folder into the valve folder now on your Quest (this gives you some nicer models - worth it in my opinion for enemy models) - does not work with Mac files for some reason.

The menu is not in front of me / the height of my player is incorrect!
This can occur as you move around in your room (especially from going to seated / standing). Press and hold the Oculus Home button (Right controller) for 2 seconds to reset the view.

Two Handed Weapons: You can control two-handed weapons using both hands (similar to Onward / Pavlov / etc). Put you non-dominant hand forward to where the front hold of the gun is and hold the grip button on that controller.

Left-handed people: Add the following cvar to your config.cfg file: vr_control_scheme "10".
If left handed players wish to mirror the weapons to avoid seeing the gaps in some of the weapon models then set the following cvar in config.cfg: vr_mirror_weapons "1"

  • Mac Users: Do not copy across the hd textures - this for some reason causes the game not to work
  • Application crashes when you complete the Hazard Course
  • No way to enter text at the moment
  • Positional tracking doesn't really work on multi-player servers (unless you run your own server and set the following cvar: sv_accelerate 10000), it sort of works if you hold down the "run" trigger, but it isn't very good
  • Lambda1VR will crash if you haven't copied the half-life game assets to the right location, no warning, just crash
  • Complaint when you exit that the app did not shutdown properly (or crashed or something).. since you are quitting this wasn't considered serious enough to hold up the release, but will be fixed in a future update

Lambda1VR is an unofficial port of the Xash3D-FWGS engine, which was originally written by Uncle Mike as a fully compatible open-source GoldSrc engine alternative, more details on that extraordinary project can be found here: -engine However this port (Lambda1VR) is not affiliated, associated, authorized, endorsed by, or in any way officially connected with the Xash3D team. In Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? the android test is legend to the mapping of the posthuman largely owing to its decontextualized installation within the film adaptation Blade Runner (1982), which seems more closely aligned with the earlier two novels' rehearsal address to the android. The equation between android and human that we are left with in Blade Runner (which is by and large, in the context of the novel, a propaganda film in support of the android cause) checks only one reality, namely, that of cinema itself. On screen, human actors might as well be androids or the miraculated-up men and women Schreber encountered as he entered the recovery phase of his psychosis.

Although in Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? the android is conceived as postmachinic, innocent bystanders still flash on machinic parts and partings when the android hurries past. The artificial animals that pick up the lack of living animals and that, unlike the androids, are machinic compel a sense of empathy against which the androids are proof.

I want to make a setting activity like as shown in the image. What should be my logic to develop this kind of screen? Please help me, as I am new to android and I want this type of activity. I have tried many solution's but didn't found like the image I have shared with you.

then in your activity you can set the width and height of it if you want it half of the screen you can set the height of it programmatically parent view all take all the screen space then create child layout and the the height of it

Nuclear technologies are all about radioisotopes. They rely on the availability of atomic, molecular and nuclear data to provide accurate numerical information on isotopes and their decay properties. The IAEA's Nuclear Data Section of the Division of Physical and Chemical Sciences (NAPC) within the IAEA Department of Nuclear Sciences and Applications (NA) is responsible for undertaking Agency activities in the areas of development and dissemination of atomic and nuclear data for applications.

The Nuclear Data Section (NDS) has been generating, compiling and disseminating data since the early days of the IAEA. To provide quick information on the properties of over 4 000 isotopes the IAEA's NDS has now launched the IAEA's first android isotope application (app) - a milestone in providing a "technical app" for instant in-depth details on the properties of radionuclides. The Isotope Browser contains a periodic table of elements that allows for easy selection and displays information on the life cycle of each isotope. The reference tables available on the app will benefit the scientific community, in particular enabling researchers to get quick and reliable information on each of the isotopes.
