Invitation to Participate in Research on Indian International Students
My name is Rohini Puri and I am a doctoral student in Counseling
Psychology at the University of Missouri. I am currently working on a
research project that examines the cross-cultural adjustment and
coping of international students in the U.S., under the supervision of
Dr. Kenneth T. Wang. We hope that this study will provide universities
with valuable insight into international students’ adjustment process,
and help inform services and support structures for international
students.
Research focusing on the experiences and unique strengths of Indian
international students studying in the U.S. is scarce. This study is
an attempt at ensuring that the experiences and voices of Indian
international students are adequately represented in current
psychological research. Your participation is thus really valuable to
us. We are aware that your time is extremely important, but believe
that the nature of this research will make your participation
worthwhile. If you are currently studying in the U.S. and over 18
years old, I hope that you will consider participating in this 10-20
minute anonymous study that has been approved by the University of
Missouri IRB [#1185257].
