Hello to All....  We are getting ready to spend the next three weeks (Wk 43-44-45) at Cascadas... Last year we were Robbed... someone came into our villa and robbed my daughters wallet. We made a complaint with no results.

Does anyone know if there has been any increase in security ??  People wander in from the beach.. then they walk up the drive way and jump into villas at random.

I just hope they did something this time to stop this.

Yes, they do have a camera system... However they would not let us view the camera footage... They did tell us that they saw someone from outside of the Club enter our villa.. Other than that Nothing was done.  Management was not interested in doing anything. The door locks on the sliding doors are a JOKE... They can be opened without a problem !

That is horrible.  Has Cascadas considered a camera system?

The membership should demand that the locks be improved... Especially on the sliding doors.

I'm sorry this happened to you. We feel very safe there. However Cascadas will never be 100 percent secure unless they build a fence or wall and lock us all in. They do their best just like any other hotel/resort. We've always put all our valuables in the safe at all times and locked our doors and leave nothing of value in our rental cars.  Just like we do at home. Thieves will get in if they want to get in. sadly times have changed. ;-(

The sliding doors/locks on the renovated units are a big improvement.  Small consolation I’m sure.  I also like the new electronic safes as it makes everyone securing and accessing valuables far easier than the old safes tied to whoever had the key.
