Dear Member, We have received many inquiries concerning the remodel of the restaurant kitchen during the summer of 2019 and how it will affect the food and beverage service throughout this period. The onsite team has developed multiple strategies and options for guests coming during the remodel timeframe. These options can be found below. The restaurant’s main kitchen will be closing at the end of May and reopening upon the end of maintenance weeks on September 27th, while some of the temporary changes will continue in effect until the reopening of building 26 to prevent inconveniences to members and guests. - The employee kitchen underwent a major remodel last year with brand new equipment and is being adapted to turn over for restaurant operations temporarily. This allows us to serve the dishes from the regular menu. Most food preparation will take place in this area, located below the lobby. The employee kitchen meets all hygiene and safety requirements.
- Breakfast will be served at the Tiburon pool daily from 7:00 – 11:00 a.m., except Sundays. Tables and chairs will be set up in this area during breakfast, and more lounge chairs will be brought in throughout the day to ensure that members enjoy their time at Cascadas. Club will set up an omelet station, waffles, pastries & coffee station and additional mobile bar to assist with beverages.
- Clubhouse Too, also known as the “Coffee Shop,” will operate during normal business hours (7:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m.). Clubhouse Too will be serving dishes from the restaurant’s current menu. Dishes will be prepared in the employee kitchen underneath Clubhouse Too and cooked to order.
- Additional tables will be set up at Clubhouse Too in order to accommodate more people coming to this area to have a meal.
- Sunday brunch will be served on the beach as there is no construction that day.
- Dinner service will be served on the beach (construction permitting) from 6:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. Tall bar tables will be set up by the Tortuga pool, serving as the bar area and a place to relax before or after dinner. Live music, daily specials and entertainment will continue.
- Beverage service will remain unaffected at both pool areas and an auxiliary bar is planned to be set up based on demand and moved around during the day.
- Sales room staff will move temporarily to the Clubhouse Too and Club’s office area behind the front desk.
- A grill will be set up on the beach during weekends offering BBQ meals and snacks (hamburgers, ribs, steak)
- The least popular dishes will be suspended to reduce congestion in the kitchen and to improve efficiency in serving orders and to allow us to more effectively use available space and inventory.
- Additional ceviche options will be made available.
- To expedite serving orders, Club will be using a cart to deliver food orders to the beach side of the property.
While handling the remodeling and finding alternatives is always a challenge, relocating certain aspects to ensure a satisfactory service is always our goal. The Board of Directors, TPI, and your onsite management team are all confident this is a step forward that will bring many benefits and could not have come at a better time than simultaneously with remodeling building 26. There were many good and valid reasons that led to the decision to remodel the restaurant kitchen. Current facilities were not meant to serve a venue of our size, the layout for preparation inside the kitchen is not optimal, which causes multiple delays with food service and creating new dishes due its limited capacity and the floor needs to be releveled. The overhaul and new equipment will allow the restaurant to serve more people at a higher efficiency, reduce waiting times, provide for new dish options and bring the kitchen up to today’s standards to fulfill the needs of the members. During the construction, access will be limited to locals or visitors. We appreciate your support of our dedicated onsite team at the restaurant and know that every meal you have onsite is part of the staff’s life and they are here with a smile on their faces waiting to see you year after year. The measures will be adjusted, as needed, to accommodate what best serves the members during this period. The inconvenience is temporary, but the improvement will carry on for many years to come, securing property value and meeting needs. The three priorities for Club remain unchanged…the members, the members and the members! On behalf of your Board of Directors, Mauricio Quezada Chief Operating Officer |
