Transparency between members and board seems to be forthcoming.  One of the major points of confusion has been the term “owners” that has been loosely used for years at Cascadas.  Members were told by sales staff and Legacy publications that once 80% of the inventory was sold members would become owners of the resort.  Because of the corporate structure of the Club we have now learned owners is not an appropriate term when describing Cascadas Members.  

If you visit the Cascadas Website you will see that the “Owners Corner” has been replaced with “Members”.  Mr. Larry Greenberg, board member, Mr. Dave Stoenner, Sales Director, and I have discussed reaching 100% transparency between members and board and replacing the term “Owners” with “Members” has begun in all documents and verbiage used by Sales Staff at Cascadas.  Rest assured this does not give we members less rights nor does this change what we bought through the Legacy Program.  I want to thank the board and TPI for making this first crucial step in moving towards our goal of 100% transparency.

Mr. Steve Akers and I will be meeting with the Giddings Family, two board members, and representatives of TPI today to initiate future steps in achieving the transparency goal and starting the healing process between members and board.

We truly appreciate the hundreds of emails and messages from members supporting our efforts and the spirited debates from those who opposed our efforts.  This feud inspired the Giddings Family, TPI, and board to work with us in solving both cultural and financial concerns that has plagued us for the last 2 years.

As we work towards transparency we will keep you updated on progress.

Carolyn and Lorne,

I don’t think he is. 

He got a meeting with the principals, with the people who matter.  That was an important step.   And his recent emails about the updates have been provide to us in a respectful manner.

In order to get their attention I guess you can say he was a trouble maker!?   I consider it a form of protest. People are free to protest.  Essentially that’s what he was doing in my eyes.  He protested and provided education to us and questioned the principals a lot.  

This is just my opinion and I am not trying to sway anyone with it.

I do stir up trouble when necessary, and being stonewalled for 2 years by the Board and Management dictates trouble be stirred. Had the Board and Management performed their “duty of loyalty” to members early on none of this would have escalated to this point. Fortunately they are now willing to perform this “duty of loyalty” moving forward and calm waters are ahead.
