Dear Teachers of Chinese Language/Administrators:

Greetings to you all from the China Program Center at the University of Massachusetts Boston. Two years ago, we obtained Fulbright-Hays grant from the Department of Education.  With this grant, once again this year, we are able to send 16 American college students to China for eight months from January 2015 to August 2015. While in China, students will participate in the following major activities:
  • Study at Shaanxi Normal University
  • Work as interns at Chinese companies
  • Homestay with Chinese host family to celebrate Chinese New Year
  • Tour of Beijing, Shanghai and Silk Road up to Xinjiang and field trips in Xi'an area
  • Group Projects: American Culture Ambassador Project, China-In-Depth Project and Internship Project.
The following fees will be covered by the grant:
  • Tuition
  • Lodging
  • International flight and the above trips in China
  • Home stay cost
  • Commute to work during the internship
  • Food stipend
Please find more detailed information in the attachment.

This will be our third year to run this program. Through this program, our past participants have been able to deepen their understanding of Chinese culture, improve their Chinese language skills, and establish social network in China. This program opened many doors for our past participants both in China and in America. I hope you may help us spread out this grant opportunity to your current or former students who might be interested. Your effort will be much appreciated here.

Please feel free to call me at 617-869-0295, or Kaitlyn Lee, the Fulbright Hays Program Coordinator, at 781-475-9610 if you have any questions.

Please note: Students need the latest version of Adobe in order to fill out and save the Application Form.

Thank you for your time and effort!

Sincerely,

Wanli Hu
