Thought I'd give a plan ahead of time so you know whatup. Some of these tasks might be done concurrently.
Before I start, it is difficult to social distance while doing this job, we will end up in each others' laps a couple times. Please wear a mask. Gloves will be helpful since some of the boats have been entangled in blackberry.
1. inspect boats and oar boxes for wasps - spray right away. I'll bring a can, I thought we have some in the sculling locker
2. we'll set out slings and sawhorses, remove all the boats from the main rack and stage them out on the field between old and new yard.
3. remove all oars and sculls and other materials from both oar lockers, on the lawn.
4. detach sweep oar locker from main rack, dismantle main rack - fairly simple if hex set screws cooperate. Only a couple horizontal bars need be removed, we'll move the sections as a unit using the trailer.
5. Set up main rack in new yard
6. Set up singles rack in new yard (it's there waiting to be assembled.)
7. Move oar boxes to new yard using truck or trailer
8. move kayak rack to new yard using truck or trailer (might do this before setting up main rack in new yard)
9 boats back on racks, oars back in lockers, move seat box over - truck or trailer
10. bonus if there's energy: dismantle and stack the fence.
We can re-arrange boats to the most logical locations later, for now just get them moved.
