Dear friends,

As many of you know, my father, Mark Brand, passed away on Thursday from Carcinoid cancer.

He was ill for a number of years, and during that time he acquired a large quantity of pharmaceuticals.  Many of these prescription drugs are very expensive, unopened, and unused (including pain killers) that are nowhere near their expiration date.

My father was passionate about helping others, and we'd like for this unused medical supplies to go to good use, and through legal channels (we are clearly looking to donate- and not sell- his surplus medications).

If you know of reputable local or international organizations that would welcome this type of donation, please let me know.

I will be returning to Israel September 6th, and could bring many of these supplies with me if necessary.

Please let me know if you have any recommendations, and please pass this email along to any appropriate parties.

Thank you,
Ali and the entire Brand family

Ali,

Yes. There is an innovative Israeli charity called "Haverim" that was established for just this goal: to re-purpose medications for people who cannot otherwise afford them.

Here is the website in English: http://www.haverim.org.il/e/

(Hebrew website: http://www.haverim.org.il/)

Cleaning out your medicine cabinet can save someone's life

Volunteers for "Friends for Health" are collecting every type of medication that you no longer need and are bringing them for no cost to patients who need them and can't get them.

To donate or to request a medication.
