UK ITS is implementing some changes that will involve some complicated network changes for computers with public ip addresses. Cloud9 has a public ip for purposes of its web server. Is that really needed now? Any links could be served through www.pa.uky.edu if needed or moved elsewhere. We could add cloud9.pa as an alias for www.pa in the external dns so any existing links would not need to be changed for those accessing externally. After connecting to the UK vpn the dns could be taken from the internal dns so that ssh, etc to cloud9 would still work (as the vpn is needed for ssh anyway). Please let me know what you think. The only external connections to the web server that I’ve seen lately are to Cloudy Summer School info.
