Formula for Power Consumption in Cloudsim

I want  to know formula does CloudSim use to calculate power consumption?

I can only see the result of power consumed in the simulation.

Is there any mathematical formula?

Hi all please let me know the formula for getactual cpu time in cloudsim please because for every successive simulation it ll just show 400,800,1200 like that

You can find the formulas to calculate power consumption in org.cloudbus.cloudsim.power.models 

and the method getEnergyLinearInterpolation in powerHost class.

Hello Fellow,

     so, I don't have much experience with Power Consumption in CloudSim, but I asked to another PhD colleague mine from ICMC-USP and he explained these calculation as following: CloudSim uses the PlanetLab energy model for calculate the consumption, is more or less as... suppose that a  cloudlet was submitted to a VM allocated in a Host and VM is using 1 CPU at 40% of workload for one Hour... the calculation done is: get the watts value of used PowerModel for the CPU Architecture used by Hosts from your simulation program and multiply it for the execution time and sum it to the amount of consumed energy.

   This is all I could discover for a while.

   Hope that this tip can be useful for you.

Hello,
In every PowerModel classes there is a getPower method which returns the power (in Watt) consumed by the host based on the current utilization of cpu.

1. can any one tell the difference between power and energy consumption? 

2. If same the state how these are same?

Hello, as you might know, energy and power are not the same concepts.

But there is a relation between them, which is described in physics clearly:

And unit used for Energy is Joule

and for power is Watt which can be Joule/second
